LSU Health New Orleans Celebrates PA Week

PA Week, celebrated this year October 6 - 12, recognizes the contributions that physician assistants make to health. As part of health care teams with physicians and other health care professionals, physician assistants practice medicine and prescribe medications. The PA profession was ranked as the #5 among the Best 100 Jobs and #4 for best in health care in the 2016 Job Rankings list produced by US News & World Report.

Established in 2012, the LSUHSC-NO Physician Assistant program is a graduate program within the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Allied Health Professions.

With a focus on primary care, the LSU Health New Orleans PA program awards a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree following 29 months of intensive academic and clinical training.
